約75%のユーザーがGoogleのFitbit Air無画面健康トラッカーを選択

According to Android Authority, Google officially released the Pixel Watch 5 smartwatch this week, but feedback from readers suggests that another wearable device launched earlier this year, the Fitbit Air, seems to be receiving more attention. This screenless health tracker, released in May this year, is becoming a dark horse in Google’s wearable product line due to its minimalist design and affordable pricing. The Fitbit Air features a screenless minimalist appearance, focusing on discreet health monitoring. Android Authority believes this design proves that users do not necessarily need a display to continuously monitor their health data.

Although the product may lack some features compared to traditional smartwatches, its simplicity and ease of use have attracted a large number of potential users.

To understand current consumer preferences for wearable devices, Android Authority conducted a poll last month, collecting over 2,200 valid votes. The results showed that about 75% of respondents expressed a willingness to purchase the Google Fitbit Air, rather than other fitness tracking products on the market. This percentage far exceeds other options, reflecting the strong appeal of screenless health trackers among specific user groups. In terms of specific data distribution, interest in smart rings is clearly declining. Only 2.8% of respondents in this survey indicated they would consider purchasing a smart ring.

It is important to note that the survey was conducted before the release of the Oura Ring 5, and previous polls by Android Authority showed that many readers remain open to the possibility of Google launching its own brand of smart rings in the future. Therefore, it can be concluded that the smart ring category has not disappeared, but current market attention is indeed decreasing.

Fitbit Air Gains Consumer Favor in the Market

In contrast, the appeal of traditional smartwatches appears somewhat lacking in this survey. Less than 10% of respondents indicated they would choose a smartwatch, while 8.9% preferred more established screenless tracker alternatives like WHOOP. The Fitbit Air is able to lead by a significant margin, mainly due to its simple product form, reasonable price, and relatively complete feature set. In the comment section of the survey, a reader named sazabi stated that the interface of the Google Health app is still not aesthetically pleasing, but the price and inclusive features of the Fitbit Air give it unmatched competitiveness, even surpassing smartwatches.

This comment also represents the voice of most supporters: for daily health monitoring needs, the Fitbit Air has found a good balance between practicality and cost-effectiveness.

However, it should be pointed out that this survey was conducted before the release of several heavyweight wearable devices, including the Samsung Watch 9, Garmin CIRQA, and Google’s own Pixel Watch 5. As these new products are released, consumer preferences may change, and the competitive landscape of the fitness tracker market will become more complex. Nevertheless, Android Authority believes that screenless health trackers may not be a fleeting trend. The Fitbit Air has maintained a high level of discussion weeks after its launch, indicating that such products are moving from niche markets to a broader user base.

For consumers who do not seek complex features and simply wish to quietly record health data, the Fitbit Air offers a lighter, less intrusive option. In the future, it will be worth watching whether Google will expand the successful experience of this product line to other forms such as smart rings.
